Nonnie the bunny has been Charlie’s constant companion almost from the day he was born. But he’d begun to fall apart, literally, and Mum had done all she could to keep him sewn together. So after a long search, we found a place to buy a new Nonnie and he arrived in the mail last week. We weren’t sure how Charlie would take having his old Nonnie replaced, but in the end he was ecstatic. He ran into the bedroom and held new Nonnie up to a mirror and said: “He’s gorgeous.” Old Nonnie will enjoy retirement in Charlie’s box of special things.
Google’s recently added news search function isn’t the place to go if you want to find the best news coverage, just the most recent. One thing it does well, though, is local news. Today I found an interesting story in, of all places, the Tallahassee Press Democrat, about a new development called Prairie Crossing, a new housing development in Grayslake, Illinois, my hometown. Hmm, looks pretty good to us.The Prairie Crossing website has a link to the current weather in Grayslake.
Mom gave us a small hydrangia for our garden when she and Dad were over for a visit last summer. This summer it’s blooming for the first time. Thanks, Mom!
We don’t know what this plant at the end of our garden is called but it’s sure beautiful at the moment. It’s never been this loaded with flowers since we’ve lived here.
