Another year, another beautiful tree with lots of presents. Happy Christmas!
Charlie holds a copy of his GCSE results, which were absolutely brilliant! 8A*s, 2As and a bonus C in Astronomy. We are so proud of how he coped with a heavy load of exams and produced such great results!
Just after our blue tits fledged at the beginning of June, we noticed two house sparrows had built a nest in the eaves at the front of our house. Soon we were hearing the noisy chicks calling for their parents and now they have fledged we often see them being fed in our garden.
Charlie ready to leave for school on the last day he will ever have to wear a school uniform, and 12 years ago on his first day of wearing one.
For the first time since we put it up several years ago, we have a pair of blue tits using our nesting box this spring. We have been monitoring it since we noticed they’d taken an interest in it around February. Watched them building a nest and generally going in and out. A few days ago the eggs hatched and they have been going in and out constantly with little green catepillars and whatever else they can find to keep them fed. It makes for compuslive viewing!
We made our 16th annual trip to our favourite bluebell woods today. The bluebells were beautiful, one of the better years for them. Not sure how many more years we’ll be able to get Charlie to agree to come and stand in the same spot though!
